Opening of the Library during Christmas Time

New this year, the library will be open three days between Christmas and New Year's Day according to the following schedule: 

  • Thursday, December 27: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday, December 28: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 29: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Launch of Chelsea's Public Art Competition

Artists living in the Outaouais region are invited to submit a concept for a permanent public art structure for the site chosen within the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais’ Heritage Trail project.

Closure of the Municipal Offices and the Library

Please note that this Friday, December 14, our municipal Offices and the Municipal Library will exceptionally close at 3:30 p.m.

Council passed a resolution changing the number of tax instalments in 2019

Municipal Council’s resolution was passed at the December 4 meeting and changes the dates and number of tax instalments for those who pay their taxes that way. Starting January 1, 2019, there will be four payments instead of six. The change is designed to make it easier for residents and  municipal staff to manage and to make the schedule more predictable. Reducing the number of payments should also help residents avoid missing deadlines and possibly losing their instalment privileges.

Chelsea Calls on NCC to Pay its Taxes - Press Release

Chelsea, December 10, 2018 – The Municipality of Chelsea is disappointed that the NCC has not been able to resolve its dispute with the regional municipality (MRC) regarding the evaluation of properties within Gatineau Park and that the NCC continues to withhold the payments in lieu of taxes (PILT) due for these federal properties.
