Adoption of a by-law concerning the collection and processing of residual materials
The Council adopted a by-law concerning the collection and processing of residual materials in order to comply with the new terms and conditions of the regroupement intermunicipal pour la gestion des matières résiduelles.
As of February 4, 2025, compost, recycling and garbage bins will be collected by a truck equipped with a mechanized arm. This change will entail adjustments for residents, who will have to respect the instructions and modify their habits. Commitment to Canadian Heritage in connection with the funding application for the Cascades Station development project
As part of Chelsea's 150th anniversary celebrations, financial assistance has been requested from Heritage Canada for the project to relocate the Cascades train station on municipal land bordering the Voie Verte Chelsea (VVC). The Municipality has committed to Heritage Canada to :
Adoption of the winter ecoroads snow removal method for the Hendrick Farm, Chelsea Creek and Quartier Meredith neighbourhoods
Following the pilot project that began in February 2023, and to limit the harmful effects that salt can have on the environment, Council adopts the winter snow removal method in the Hendrick Farm, Chelsea Creek and Meredith neighbourhoods.

The Council congratulates Mr. Paul Throop on his induction into the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame Hall of Fame, Class of 2024, and for the legacy of his exceptional career exceptional career, his lifelong commitment to cross-country skiing and his efforts to efforts to make the sport accessible to all. He is also the co-creator of the Ski à l'école organization.
