August 19, 2024
On August 16, the Municipality issued a precautionary boil-water advisory for all residents served by the water supply system. Here is the update as of August 19, 2024.
The precautionary boil water advisory is still in effect on the water system. The Municipality asks all residents served by the system to continue to boil water to a rolling boil, at least one minute before consumption until the advisory is lifted.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for preparing formula, bottles and baby food, washing vegetables and fruit to be eaten raw, preparing drinks (including coffee), washing dishes, brushing teeth and rinsing the mouth. Please discard all food, including ice, prepared with tap water after the date and time of the initial notice. We also recommend that you give your pets previously boiled and cooled water.
A boil water advisory is a notice issued by the Municipality when there is a risk of contamination. When the network requires maintenance, or when a breakdown occurs, the water is not necessarily contaminated. It must undergo a certain testing protocol to validate that the water has not been in contact with contaminants. For your own safety, we recommend that you follow boiling protocols while waiting for confirmation that the water is safe to drink.
As soon as the notice is lifted, communications will be made to this effect. Thank you for your cooperation.
Among Pivot's main features is the ability to send customized notices and alerts on various subjects, including the aqueduct system (e.g boil notice, pressure drop, request to reduce water consumption, network audit notice, etc.).
To stay informed, you can choose your preferred notification method (email, text messaging, or automated call).
