THE GREAT ESCAPE: CHELSEA IS PARTICIPATING!

October 4, 2012

During the Fire Prevention Week, the Municipality of Chelsea is proud to participate in the second edition of The Great Escape, Wednesday, October 10 at 7 pm. Citizens from across Quebec will be invited to activate their smoke alarms and practice their escape plan. For the occasion, your fire department will be present in the streets with sirens and flashing lights to animate the event and answer all your questions.

In order for you to be ready for the event, your Fire Department invites you to check the operating status of your alarm and prepare your escape plan with your family. Take a few minutes to tell your children the emergency exits and assembly point outside. You will find the website of the Ministry of Public Security (www.securitepublique.gouv.qc.ca) an online tool easy to use for drawing your plan.

This initiative of the Chelsea Fire Department and the Ministry of Public Security, is mobilizing event to remind you of the importance of having a smoke alarm in operating condition and an evacuation plan that must be practiced at least once a year.

Make sure that our community stands out and participate in large numbers in the Great Escape. This could save your life!
