Winter storm warning: what you need to know

February 12, 2025

A winter storm warning has been issued by Environment Canada for the region as of February 12. This storm may cause difficult travel conditions in some areas, with visibility potentially dropping to almost zero at times due to heavy snow and blowing snow over the next few hours.

Municipal crews will be monitoring the storm's progress and are prepared to respond as needed. However, please be aware that it may take longer than usual to clear the roads of snow. We appreciate your cooperation during this time.

Recycling collection postponed

Citizens whose collection day is Thursday (sector C), the collection of recyclable materials has been postponed to Monday, February 17, 2025. Be sure to place your bin correctly at the curb at that time.

Closing of Town Hall

The municipal offices and the library will be exceptionally closed tomorrow, February 13. Customer service will remain available by telephone and e-mail during business hours.

Being prepared

Having an emergency kit is a good way to prepare for the first 72 hours of an emergency, especially if there might be no power or running water. You should also consider the following:

  • Fill bathtubs or containers with water if your water comes from a well
  • Make sure your phone is charged
  • Keep gas cans ready for generators (and be sure to follow safety guidelines).

Check the webpage to this effect for a list of items to include in your home emergency kit.
