The Municipality of Chelsea's Environment Department launched its fifth call for Fonds vert projects in the fall of 2024. The goal was to solicit proposals for environmental, sustainable development, or active transportation projects within the community.
During the Municipal Council meeting on March 11, 2025, two community projects were officially selected to receive municipal and financial assistance from the Fonds vert.
Accepted Projects:
- A project to measure light pollution in the area (by Action Chelsea pour le Respect de l'Environnement).
- The construction of raised planters for citizens with reduced mobility.
About the Fonds Vert
Initiated in 2021, the Fonds vert aims to support initiatives focused on environmental sustainability, development, and active transportation by providing financial resources and municipal support. This fund primarily targets citizens, local entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and public organizations. Various types of projects and studies are eligible for funding.
The next call for projects will take place in the fall of 2025 for initiatives planned for 2026.
