Update of the by-law concerning the internal management of Council
Following the Quebec government's Bill 57, which seeks to better protect elected municipal officials and promote the unhindered exercise of their functions, a draft update of the by-law concerning the internal management of the Council is presented.
The main items modified in the by-law are the provisions concerning the conduct of Council debates, question periods, and the maintenance of good order and decorum during meetings. The Council approved the tabling of the draft by-law.
Installation of an emergency generator
The municipal Council adopted a resolution confirming the awarding of a contract for the installation of an emergency generator at the Town Hall and fire hall number 1. This project was previously approved in the 2024 triennial capital expenses program (PTI). The installation of this generator is intended to guarantee continuity of services to citizens in the event of major power failures.
Adoption of a budget management policy
To ensure that the budget reflects the orientations of the Municipal Council, by determining financial priorities to meet the current and future needs of the population, a budget management policy has been adopted by the Council. The components of this policy are:
Marking work on Route 105
To promote safe travel and active mobility, the Council approved additional marking work for four pedestrian crossings at various locations along Route 105.
International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia
Council adopts a resolution to mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. On May 17, 2024, a message of inclusion will be promoted on the Municipality's social media and the LGBTQIA2+ flag will be raised at Town Hall in support of the cause.
100th anniversary of the Larrimac Golf and Tennis Club
The Council congratulates the Larrimac Golf and Tennis Club on its 100th anniversary in 2024. The Club has organized many community events, fostering links between many families and residents of the region.
