Request to the provincial government to intervene with the Centre de services scolaires des Portages-de-l'Outaouais for the construction of an elementary school in Chelsea
The Council adopted a resolution to ask the Minister of Education to prioritize the construction of the new elementary school in Chelsea, as announced in June 2023, and to include it in the 2025-2026 Five-Year Capital Plan.
It also requested the support of the Minister responsible for the Outaouais region and of the Deputy of Gatineau in bringing the voice of Chelsea families to the table.
Renewal of the agreement between the Municipality and la Fab sur Mill
With this resolution, Council mandated the General Director to negotiate and renew the memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Chelsea and the Fab sur Mill to promote cultural and artistic life in Chelsea.
Authorization to sign a technical service contract with the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec
The technical service contract with the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable for sweeping work on Chemin d'Old Chelsea and the southern section of Route 105 was approved by Council.
Renewal of the agreement concerning arenas of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais
The General Management was mandated by the Council to negotiate and renew the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais arena agreement in collaboration with the Association du Hockey mineur des Collines, participating municipalities and Loisir sport Outaouais.
Deployment of cellular coverage
A resolution was passed by the Council calling on the federal government and all parties to include in their election platforms the obligation for all cellular service companies to enter into roaming agreements.
This would allow customers to benefit from cellular coverage in the region where they are located, as cellular coverage remains insufficient and limits access to an essential service for residents and visitors.
Highlighting two theme days on municipal platforms
Council adopts two resolutions to highlight on municipal platforms:
- Hooked on School Days under the theme “Perseverance makes a world of difference” to be held from February 10 to 14, 2025.
- La Journée nationale de la promotion de la santé mentale positive. On March 13, 2025, residents and all municipal organizations and institutions are invited to promote positive mental health under the theme “Se ressourcer c’est trouver sa zone de recharge”.
