Invitation to a discussion about the work to come on Chemin de la Rivière and du Lac-Meech

January 7, 2020

The Municipality of Chelsea invites you to a discussion regarding the upcoming works on chemin de la Rivière and a section of chemin du Lac-Meech, between parking lot P8 and chemin Dunlop. The purpose of this meeting is to collect your comments and opinions regarding the proposed route template.

Friday, January 24, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.

Meeting room, Fire Hall #1 (ground floor)

7 chemin de l’Hôtel-de-Ville

Here are the details of the work to come on these two roads.

Chemin du Lac-Meech

Rehabilitation work from P8 to Dunlop, with shared roadway: $3,932,782 (2020)

Dunlop to O’Brien: professional fees of $40,000 (2020) and rehabilitation work totaling $2,176,792 (2022) (plans and specifications already submitted)

O’Brien to the end of the road: professional fees of $330,000 (2020) and work to be carried out in 2023

Work on Chemin du Lac-Meech will begin in 2020 and continue in phases until 2023. The project will repair the road, ensure users' safety, and foster road-sharing by cyclists and motorists. We will work closely with the NCC to make the segment of the Gatineau Park North Loop accessible to non-motorized modes of transport.

Chemin de la Rivière

Rehabilitation work on Chemin de la Rivière: $5,000,000 (2021)

Municipal Council has already awarded the contract for a geotechnical study as well as for plans and specifications. While professional services are more costly than expected, given the proximity to the river, we continue to move this project forward with plans to finalize rehabilitation work in 2021.
