The Municipality of Chelsea is proud to announce that it has recently obtained the Silver-level “VÉLOSYMPATIQUE” certification. This certification highlights the ongoing efforts of the Municipality and the community to promote cycling and create a healthy, pleasant and safe environment for all.
Among the initiatives implemented by the Municipality since 2020, when it received the Bronze-level certification, are:

A true example for a community of its size, Chelsea stands out for the winter maintenance of its cycling network, its vibrant sustainable mobility advisory committee, and the diversity of cycling activities concentrated there. The “VÉLOSYMPATHIQUE” movement is a Vélo-Québec program that encourages communities and organizations to make cycling a real transportation and leisure option for everyone. Through a rigorous certification process, it offers tools and support services to communities and organizations working to promote cycling.
Joining the “VÉLOSYMPATHIQUE” movement makes a difference in our communities and organizations and inspires those around us to commit to a path of collective and sustainable well-being.
The “VÉLOSYMPATHIQUE” movement benefits from financial support from the Government of Quebec through the Quebec Climate Action Plan and aligns with the objectives of the 2030 Green Economy Plan.
