Open House Event at the Main Fire Station on May 4

On May 4th, 2025, the Municipality of Chelsea Fire Department will be holding an open house event at its main fire station (7 Chemin de l'Hôtel-de-Ville). Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Chelsea residents and their families are invited to take part in the various activities organized as part of the Municipality of Chelsea's 150th anniversary celebrations.

This initiative ties in with International Firefighters' Day and Emergency Preparedness Week.

 

Schedule

Open house: Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., the team will be on hand to offer guided tours of the fire station, equipment and fire trucks. Information booths will be staffed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Sûreté du Québec, the Public Security Department of the MRC des Collines de l'Outaouais and Héma-Québec.

Rallye on fire and civil security in the centre-village: From 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., families are invited to explore the centre-village and solve eight riddles to learn more about fire and civil security. 

BBQ at the fire station: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a BBQ dinner benefiting Baseball Chelsea will be organized.

Live cooking fire extinguishing and extrication demonstrations: From 1 to 2 p.m. only, Service employees will give live demonstrations.

Recognition ceremony: At 3 p.m., a commemorative plaque will be unveiled inside the fire station, to honor former Chelsea Fire Department firefighters with more than 10 years' service.
